The One Tool You Need to Target Phonological Awareness as a Speech Therapist
Hey SLP!
Want to reallyyyyy impress your colleagues this upcoming school year while helping establish core literacy skills in your clients? I've got two words for you:
Phonological Awareness.
This skill is often targeted in those populations starting as early as Pre-Kindergarten, but if it isn't established early on, can really interfere with their ability to master literacy later on.
Which means, they're going to struggle in the classroom a LOT. Anddddd we find that students who have articulation errors and phonological patterns from an early age tend to have difficulty with phonological awareness. So, if we want to help them succeed in the classroom, we need to monitor and target this area!
But...this can get tricky. And there can be a LOT of prep work involved in making materials for this goal.
So…voila! My No-Print Phonological Awareness Drill Cards were created.
When I made these, I made them with YOU in mind and made sure to make them low-prep, grab-and-go, and great to use one-on-one with students or in your mixed groups 🙌🏼
