What’s in My Therapy Bag? Summer Edition for Pediatric SLPs
Hey SLP friends! 👋🏼
If you work in early intervention, private practice, community settings, or summer programs, you know that your therapy bag becomes your best friend.
The challenge?
Packing enough materials to stay flexible without carrying your entire speech room around with you.
Here are my favorite therapy bag essentials for summer sessions.
Portable Visual Supports
Visual supports are useful for nearly every age group and goal area.
Consider packing:

The best therapy toys can be used in dozens of ways.
Think:
- Mini objects
- Play food
- Vehicles

Drill Cards
A small set of articulation, language, or literacy drill cards can instantly give you structured practice opportunities. Don't want to print and prep them yourself? Lucky for you, I have prepped physical drill cards you can purchase ready to use!

Simple Reinforcers
Bubbles, stickers, stampers, and small movement breaks often go a long way and they don't take up that much space in your bag!
Less Is More
The goal is not carrying everything.
The goal is carrying resources that work across multiple goals and age groups.
A thoughtfully packed therapy bag helps sessions feel less stressful and more flexible all summer long. What do you put in your speech bag? Let me know in the comments below!
Happy speeching!
