How to Make Back To School Speech Therapy Screening EASY!
Hey speech friends! 👋🏼
A lot can happen in a few months, including our precious clients mastering a skill or at least making substantial progress towards it (especially if you took my tips on sending home programs last spring!). On the other hand, they may also have regressed and we need to circle back on a skill or sound that we had made such good progress towards!
That's why, once you get your caseload, it's so important to gather some baseline data! Instead of digging through your old files and data sheets to find data that may not even be relevant, take a few minutes to screen each child before beginning speech services.
I can guarantee that these few minutes of screening can provide valuable insight and save you WEEKS of wasted therapy sessions trying to figure out where each kid's level of progress is at.
I also acknowledge that finding screeners for an entire caseload can be a huge hassle….and I want to help! Over the years I've developed quite the inventory of digital resources that are PERFECT for this time of year.
Why? Let's take a look 👇🏼
- Digital materials save time and resources. No waiting at the copy machine or depending on those fickle printers to get your materials. Simply download to your device and get to therapy!
- It can go with you without taking up a ton of space!
- Once downloaded, you have it forever! Don't worry about digital resources being lost or unable to be found. Can't find it or got a new device? Simply download from the TPT Purchases tab and it's ready to go again.
- Updates can be made instantly!
- Digital resources are now as varied and numerous as print! The ones I have can take you from baseline data collection all the way through therapy sessions and are easily used with any type of therapy session.
- Prefer to print? No worries. Many of these are print OR digital and can function as either.
